Little Engine Silver Chardonnay 2022

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaLast time out, I thought the Silver label best described California meets Naramata, and it appears to be the same story this year. It’s a good story for this whole cluster pressed / pressed after overnight skin contact chardonnay, fermented long and cool in stainless steel tanks and a variety of seasoned French oak barrels. The final blend was 71% barrel fermented (no new oak) and matured on lees for eight months with bâtonnage. There is a mix of pineapple and Meyer lemons, balancing the sugar and acid perfectly with streaks of lime and vanilla butter before finishing fresh and ready to drink. A modern version of New World chardonnay that should have a broad audience. Lobster, Dungeness crab, creamy cheeses, or roasted chicken all come to mind.Tasted: 19 April 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
