Stellenbosch, Coastal Region, South AfricaFrom Stellenbosch's decomposed granite and hutton soils, and younger vines (up to 30 years), this blend of pinotage, merlot, cabernet sauvignon, and cabernet franc was fermented in concrete before resting 1 year in French barrels. Tart black fruit leads before a plumper, softer plum and blackberry palate, framed with pasty tannins to a warming smoked plum and cinnamon finish.
