Southern Lines Pinot Noir 2022
Central Otago, South Island, New ZealandYear two for one of the province's best priced Central Otago pinot noir made by Brent and Shirley Rawstron, who planted their first New Zealand vineyard in 1986 and were among the first to produce pinot noir in Canterbury. In 1999, they purchased their first five vineyards in Marlborough, which now form a large block in the heart of Rapaura. They are also the folks behind the successful Seven Terraces Sauvignon Blanc. This is a nice improvement over last year's reductive bottle that I tased. The textures are silky, and the fruit is forward with ripe Morello cherries and plenty of earthy, savoury notes pushing up from underneath. A fine match for butterflied lamb, cassoulet, or duck with olives.Tasted: 06 March 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $37.99 | 750ml | select private retailers |
