Ribera del Duero, Castilla-Leon, SpainThis rosado is an 85 / 15 blend of tempranillo mixed with albillo mayor and garnacha. The vines are 15 to 30 years old and are planted over deep calcareous clay soils at 840m. The barely crushed berries get about five hours of skin contact before the juice is bled off, lending to its moniker Rosado de Lágrima. The colour is light pink, and the nose is a buttery strawberry affair that spills onto a soft, round, palate with a slightly dirty finish.
