Champagne Huré Frères 4 Éléments NV

Vallée de la Marne, Champagne, FranceChampagne Huré Fréres began just over 50 years ago, and remains very much a family business. Today Raoul Huré and his two sons, Francois and Pierre, oversee their the estate from their Ludes' home base in the Vallée de la Marne. This comes from a single parcel in Ludes called La Grosse Pierre, and is entirely pinot meunier planted on calcareous clays. From the 2016 vintage, this was long fermented in demi-muids before 4 years on lees, disgorged in December 2021 with 3g/L, and only 1821 bottles were made. Burnished white cherry, raspberry, red apple, and perfumed cherry blossom roll across the palate, bedded with pastry and lofted with an easy acidity. There's a lovely balance here, and delicate touch, which isn't so easy to achieve with 100% PM.Tasted: 29 March 2024Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
