Bocca di Lupo Aglianico 2018
Puglia, ItalyThis flagship red from Tormaresca's 140 hectare Bocca di Lupo estate in Minervino Murge, the heart of Puglia's Castel del Monte DOC, is made with certified organic aglianico grapes from a cooler 2018 vintage. This is already showing more finesse than last year's edition. After fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak barriques, and bottle for 24 months. The colour is nearly opaque, and the fruit is spicy with rich black cherry, plum, balsamic, with silky tannins. The long, persistent finish brings more spice and rich dark fruit. It's a giant of wine with just enough restraint to enjoy now, even if it's a decade away from maturity.
