Nathalie Bonhomme El Petit Bonhomme Tinto 2022

Jumilla, Valencia and Murcia, SpainEl Petit Bonhomme fruit is primarily sourced from Jumilla. The mix is 55% 30 year old monastrell, 30% garnacha, and 15% syrah from southwest Spain bush vines. The yields are easy to control in Jumilla due to the lack of water, which gives the wine a concentration you seldom see at this price point. It is hand harvested, followed by a cold maceration and a two week fermentation in small stainless steel vats. It goes through malolactic fermentation in 225L French oak barrels for the monastrell and syrah, and 300L American oak for the garnacha. In all, it spends 6 months in French oak. Its quality/price ratio gives this spicy workhorse weekday red a well earned place at the dinner table. Ready to drink all year.Tasted: 31 October 2024Tasted by: Prices:
