Da Silva Pinot Noir 2021

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaDa Silva Pinot Noir comes off Hidden Hollow Vineyard in Penticton, owned and grown by Richard and Twylla da Silva, and Lazy Dog Vineyard, also in Penticton, owned by grower Dean and Liz Marchand. 2021 is beginning to show the polish we seek in this price range. The nose is ripe and clean with dark fruit aromas and a fresh, earthy note. The plate is awash in fresh black cherries with earthy, forest floor, spice and mushroom notes. The textures are pinot silky, and the alcohol is just about right at 13.9. It is ready to drink and would be fun with pork or duck dishes. It was barrel aged 18 months in 60 percent French oak and 40 percent Hungarian oak, all medium toast. The best yet.Tasted: 09 February 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
