Champagne Paul Gosset Au Lil des Temps L'Été NV
Vallée de la Marne, Champagne, FranceThe young Paul Gosset launched his first champagnes in 2020, in collab with his father Michel, who had himself taken over the family's Aÿ estate in the early 1980s. Their 3.5ha of sustainably farmed vineyards also include holdings in Mareuil-sur Aÿ, Dizy and Chouilly. This cuvée is pinot noir from Aÿ, with 80% from 2018 and the remainder from reserves, kept in bottles. 60% was fermented in wood, with full MLF. It was disgorged in November 2021 with 2 g/L. The pinosity is evident in this BdN, built on structure, with fine bones based with chalk, red apple, cherry blossom, and brioche. Paul is treating this powerful wine with a light hand, making it into something eminently drinkable and interesting.
