Olivier Coste Illégal Mourvèdre 2022
Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceThis wine comes from a small appellation in Languedoc, but 100% mourvèdre is illegal there, thus, the winery declassified it to Vin de France and hid its origin. Destemmed grapes were macerated and fermented in stainless for 3 weeks, and kept there for a brief time before bottling in late winter. Tight and crunchy plum, boysenberry, wild blueberry flood the bright palate, with fine, sticky tannins to pin in the sides and welcome food pairing (sausages). Brighter and tighter than previous vintages.Tasted: 18 January 2024Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:ON | $22.00 | 750ml | consignment |
