Pascal Clément Pernand-Vergelesses Les Belles Filles 2021

Pernand-Vergelesses, Côte de Beaune, Côte d'Or, Burgundy, FranceGrown just around the hill from the Grand Cru of Corton Charlemagne, these vines are rooted between 250-300m in the foothills of the hillside, in clay / limestone soils mixed with chaillots. It was native fermented in foudre, where it remains for 11 months, with full MLF and no bâtonnage. Profound from the start, with a smouldering mix of lemon rind, crushed stones, flinty reduction, and subtly toasted oak, all taut with a vibrato of acidity. This is very reminiscent of its neighbouring GC, but with a freshness and tightness that is very welcome. Beauty now, and with time ahead.Tasted: 11 December 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
