Meyer Family Vineyards Chardonnay Old Main Road Vineyard 2022

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaPreviously known as their Tribute Series Chardonnay, this Old Main Road vineyard's 26 year old vines are rooted in silt over clay loams. This was fermented long and cool in stainless before moving into French oak (25% new) for 11 months on lees, without b√Ętonnage, and with full MLF. It was bottled unfined and coarsely filtered. This opens with abundant alluring reduction which streams through the medium bodied wine, imbuing it with a potent salinity that colours the lemon, green apple, ripe pear, toasted flax, pencil shavings, fresh hazelnut that layers the palate. A lifted acidity easily carries this through a lingering saline finish. Quite forward, but carries this confidence very well. Very smart.Tasted: 03 December 2023Tasted by: Prices:
