Lillooet, British Columbia, CanadaThe Small Lot Merlot is all Lillooet estate fruit from the sandy soils of Dry Creek Vineyard and Red Rock Vineyard. A two day cold soak is followed by fermentation and regular pump overs before a 15 month period in neutral barrels. The nose is awash in roasted coffee beans and earthy scents. On the palate, the wine is low in fruit and big on campfire, with smoky notes that persist across the palate and finish bitter. Drink now and consider grilled spicy sausages to be the match.Tasted: 07 November 2023Tasted by: Prices:

Lillooet, British Columbia, CanadaThis Small Lot Merlot is entirely Lillooet fruit from their Dry Creek Vineyard and Red Rock Vineyard's sandy soils. After crushing and destemming, the grapes were left to cold soak for two days before fermentation and regular pump-overs for extraction. The wine was then aged 15 months in neutral barrels. Roasted coffee, espresso, and root vegetables open this full-bodied merlot, with ripe blackberry and black plum to follow on the silky palate. Tannins are lightly gritty, holding this to a bitter espresso finish. Quite rugged and rough edged, this requires some hearty/saucy proteins to manage at this stage.Tasted: 22 December 2023Tasted by: Prices:
