Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAmulet White 2022 is a 61/29/10 mix of viognier (from Naramata Bench), viognier (from Penticton), and marsanne (Penticton). The nose is awash in floral notes and desert undertones. The palate is led by apricots, honey, and white fruits with a dusting of ginger spice. As rich as it is, it is relatively dry and well-suited to ageing. The fruit is whole cluster pressed and chilled for 48 hours before moving to French barrels (10% new) for a long, cool fermentation and a complete malolactic fermentation. It spent six months on its lees before it was bottled, unfined, and unfiltered.Tasted: 07 November 2023Tasted by: Prices:
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis year's Amulet White blends 61% viognier (from Naramata Bench), 29% viognier (from Penticton), and 10% Marsanne (Penticton), all whole cluster pressed and left to chill for 48 hours prior to moving into French barrels (10% new) for a long, cool fermentation and full MLF. After 6 months rest on lees, this was bottled unfined and unfiltered. Highly perfumed with apricots, lime blossoms, talc powder, honeysuckle, and white peach which carries onto the expansive palate, studded with gingersnap and seasoned with light toast. Very harmonious, and if you're looking for a richer aromatic white blend, seek this out. The Diam10 cork suggested it will last quite a while in your cellar.Tasted: 19 December 2023Tasted by: Prices:
