Amulet Roussanne 2022
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe nose is awash in floral notes and desert undertones, while the palate is led by apricots, honey, and white fruits with a dusting of spice. As rich as it is, it is relatively dry and well-suited to ageing. If you are unaware of complex white wines, this is one to get to know. The fruit is whole cluster pressed and settled for 12 hours before moving to French barrels (35% new 225L barriques and 65% neutral 300L hogshead barrels) for a slow fermentation. In all, it aged nine months on its lees with zero stirring.
