Filipa Pato Nossa Calcário Bical 2022
Bairrada, Northern Portugal, PortugalThese biodynamic Bical grapes come from the limestone clays of Óis do Bairro vineyard, and 40 year old vines. This was the first vineyard they purchased, and first converted to biodynamics. This was whole bunch, and native ferment in foudre and 500-600L pipas, where it remains on lees, with full MLF and without bâtonnage, for 9 months. Tight lemon, white grapefruit, and crunchy pear braces the ample mineral stoniness that rules the palate, kissed with wild fennel on the saline finish.
