Filipa Pato Nossa Calcário Baga 2021
Bairrada, Northern Portugal, PortugalThis Baga is handpicked and hand selected from their centenary vineyards in the rocky limestone soils of Bairrada, yielding only 3 to 4 bunches/vine. Partly destemmed, this was fermented in open oak lagares with some pigeage. After fermentation the wine is aged in 500/600L pipas, plus 1 2000L foudre. Wild black plum, wild blackberry is structured with thorns and finely firm tannins, scented with purple wildflowers and scrubby rosemary.
