Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaPenelope and Dylan Roche, owners of Naramata-based Roche wines, have launched a collection of labels tagged Vig (that’s short for vigneron or winegrower), which collaborates with renowned Canadian artists known for their bold style. The Roches asked each artist to create a label that illustrates their sensory experiences when tasting the wine. This orange wine (aka Amber) is organic Naramata gewürztraminer, partially skin fermented for 5 months. After aging in stainless, it was bottled unfined and unfiltered. Pouring a slightly hazy amber hue, this is teeming with mandarin pith and peel, apricot skin, cantaloupe, and perfumed peach blossom, all nicely balanced by a riffing texture, astringent citrus, and finishing with bergamot tea. Nice balance and harmony here. Drinking now, with salty bites.Tasted: 17 October 2023Tasted by: Prices:

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaGewürztraminer from the Naramata Bench, this is a blend of three components: one macerated overnight; another fermented over three weeks; and the third on skins for five months. It was then aged in stainless steel and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Pouring a hazy pale amber, this has a punchy, aromatic nose led by orange blossoms and elderflower, alongside juicy peach and candied orange peel, leading to a dry, textured palate that shows some bitterness from the extended skin contact. Try this with tangy, salty light bites like olives stuffed with anchovies.Tasted: 28 October 2023Tasted by: Prices:
