Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Artemis Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Napa Valley, California, United StatesArtemis is a surprisingly supple, melt in your mouth Napa cabernet from all across the valley. The fruit is perfectly ripe on the black plum side, and full of spice, balsamic, milk, and chocolate notes. The finish is soft and persistent with black fruit and sweet fig, and refined, dense, sweet tannins that are already mature. Artemis is named for the Greek goddess of the hunt, to speak to the blend of fruit the winery hunts down to make this wine every year. The locals like to serve it with a grilled tri-tip steak, braised short ribs, or pasta with wild mushrooms and prosciutto. I want a plate, please. The 99/1 cabernet sauvignon/merlot mix is aged 14 months in 50% new French oak, 4% new American oak, plus older French oak barrels.Tasted: 19 October 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
