Poplar Grove Pinot Noir 2022

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe first ever Poplar Grove Pinot Noir is the 2022, due to be released in June. The Holler family purchased a 5.62-hectare site at the southern end of the Naramata bench and planted several French clones: 091 (Pommard), 667, 777, 114, 115, and 828. The wine has a slippery, silky texture, immediately indicating it is pinot. The entry is smooth and earthy with a rush of dark red plum dusted with baking spices reminiscent of New Zealand, combining the fruity Marlborough style with richer Central Otago output. It’s a credible start for a winery that has never made a pinot. Ready to drink.Tasted: 11 October 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
