One Faith Vineyards Reserve Chardonnay 2022
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA challenging, cool, wet spring set back the 2022 season, resulting in a later than average bud break, followed by a hot summer that slowed the phenolic ripeness, pushing the final ripening into the dry, relatively warm fall. That scenario resulted in full flavours and an overall delicate balance. This wine originates above the western shore of Skaha Lake, and believe it or not, is somewhat reminiscent of northern Italian chardonnay. It opens with florals and citrus, with a strong stony, almond, mineral character that runs through the wine. More melon and citrus dominate the mid-palate before a saline nutty finish wraps up.
