Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe 34 acre Okanagan Falls Vineyard at Noble Ridge is home to this fruit. Like last year, it is a spicy, savoury, soya balsamic style red with sour cherry and black raspberry and some bright acidity. A bit lean for 2020, this is best consumed with braised beef of a hearty winter stew. Ready to drink. The mix is 81 percent merlot (clone 118 planted in 1986, and an unknown clone planted in 1999) and 15 percent cabernet sauvignon (also an unknown clone from one of the oldest blocks of cab in the Okanagan, planted in 1986) with two percent cabernet franc and two percent malbec. It gets a standard, three day cold soak before fermentation.
