Love & Grapes Muse 2021
Loire, FranceLove & Grapes is the personal negoce project of Domaine de l'Ecu winemaker Fred Niger. For this label he purchases organic / biodynamic fruit from friends in other regions, including his homeland of the Rhône. For Muse, this biodynamic cabernet sauvignon comes from a 1 hectare vineyard in the Loire on Gneiss and Orthogneiss soils (so assuming it's in Pays Nantais). Half spent a day on skins for colour, while the rest was pressed off immediately. All was native fermented and rested briefly in stainless. Pouring a pink grapefruit / peach hue, this juicy, sleek rosé is brimming with herbal young strawberry and raspberry blossoms, crunchy plum, mandarin pith across a rhubarb yogurt / tart palate.
