Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe 2020 vintage, universally admired across BC, has yielded an extensive, rich, dark Portfolio in the glass. The 18th blend is 43% merlot, 35% cabernet sauvignon, 16% cabernet franc, 3% malbec, and 3% petit verdot, and it is full ripe black plums, balsamic, cocoa, and blackberries, with a sweet vanilla underside. This is going to need some time to settle down and show itself. At this point, it would be hard to know if the fruit came off Sunrock and Perfect Hedge vineyards in Osoyoos, or just saying it’s a modern New World blend.
