Rioja, SpainBel comes from the Akkadian Word belu, meaning Lord or Master. Here it refers to Bel being the lord or master of a particular place : Rioja. This Crianza blends 80% tempranillo with 20% garnacha from north-facing vineyards in Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa, and Rioja Orientale, in the foothils of the Sierra de la Demanda. The destemmed fruit was aged in medium toast American and French barrels for 14 months, with racking every 4 months to facilitate filtration. Plump morello cherry, black raspberry, floods a juicy palate, framed by well-integrated, lightly toasted wood tannins, and finishing with a tart cherry and lingering mixed baking spice.
