Col d'Orcia Brunello di Montalcino Organic 2018

Montalcino, Siena, Tuscany, ItalyCol D'Orcia, as the name points out, is a sunny slope that runs down to the Orcia River at the southwest border of Montalcino. 140 hectares of organic vines sit between 140 and 440 metres above sea level, facing south/southwest. The year 2018 was cool and undoubtedly favourable to Sangiovese. This is structurally attractive with firm but dense sweet tannins, a medley of savoury dark cherry streaked with tobacco, mushrooms, and light chocolate with a complex of earth and eucalyptus. This elegant version of Brunello's style should carry itself well for 8 to 10 years. It was fermented over 3 weeks in stainless steel and aged for 2 years in varying sized Slavonian and French oak casks.Tasted: 31 October 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
