Certitude One Faith Vineyards Cabernet Merlot 2021

Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe fruit in this wine has come from the Black Sage Bench in the south Okanagan Valley. The nose is under 14-16 months of mostly new French oak, so right off the bat, I suggest this wine needs time in the bottle to open up and be its best. The palate is surprisingly softer and more open, but still youthful, pitching blackcurrant and coffee, with more oak sitting on the wine. The mix is 44/42/14 merlot/cabernet franc/cabernet sauvignon that, while young, is showing surprising signs of balance and texture that are encouraging. I say come back to this in 2025 or 2026 and see where it's at, or try it now with a roast leg of lamb.Tasted: 10 October 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
