Piedmont, ItalyVèngore is a natural amphitheatre of 26 hectares, including meadows, woods, and vineyards. Centering, there is a historic farmstead, with Roman steps. This organic nebbiolo comes from a single estate vineyard, native fermented in tank before aging one year in large Slavonian oak barrels. Deep and dark, with plush black plum, black cherry, and fragrant purple florals wrapping around a smouldering, smokey, twiney core, with sinewy, grippy black tea tannins pulling this in and straight, and to a bitter raspberry/cherry finish. At present, this is a very strict and youthful and stand-offish nebbiolo, which should soften and ease with a year or two in your cellar.
