Tinhorn Creek Edition 94 Limited Release 2021

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA warm, hot, and dry 2021 and its lower yields are the base for Edition 94, a wine that celebrates Tinhorn’s environmental commitment. Now 30 years on, Tinhorn’s sustainable practices, a legacy of former CEO and winemaker Sandra Oldfield’s team, works from the vineyard to the bottle. This wine exemplifies the winery’s commitment to eco-friendly production methods. The blend is merlot 27%, cabernet sauvignon 25%, cabernet franc 19%, syrah 19%, and malbec 10%, grown at Diamond Back Vineyard (Black Sage Bench) and Tinhorn Creek Vineyard (Golden Mile). Post-fermentation, it is aged 18 months in French oak. The attack is silky dry and with more red berries than black, with a dusting of dried herbs and desert sagebrush. The finish is a complex mix of dark plums, dark chocolate, and a subtle hint of smoke and spice. Youthful, I wait for the wine to unfold over the next four to seven years. If you must open it now, serve it with mushroom pasta or marinated flank steak, grilled rare.Tasted: 08 September 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
