Maeli Rosso 2018

Veneto, ItalyMaeli is owned by the 21st generation of Bisol brothers, Gianluca and Desiderio, and is nestled in the Euganean Hills’ volcanic, chalky slopes. The organic winery is directed by winemaker Elisa Dilavanzo. This blend of Merlot, Carmenere, and Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the volcanic and chalky hills of Veneto's Colli Euganei. After a native ferment, 30% of the wine was aged in neutral oak barrels, with the remainder in stainless and cement tanks. Dusky and juicy, with cherries, raspberries, fresh tobacco, green herbs and cracked pepper rolling across the medium palate. Tannins are furry, and acidity is lofty, calling out for a roasted veg / meat braise.Tasted: 08 September 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
