Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaThe Luca wines are Dr. Laura Catena's passion, and named after her son. Laura has been instrumental in pushing to make small quantities of terroir-based wine as a natural extension of Catena's years of research into Mendoza's high-altitude vineyards in the Uco Valley. In 2020, the fruit was 50% Altamira and San Carlos, and 50% Gualtallary, Tupungato, all hand-harvested, aged 14 months in 40% new French oak, and 60% used barrels and stainless steel. You can expect a rich, dense red, inky purple and youthful, brimming with blueberries, and streaked with notes of coffee and cocoa with high-altitude bright acidity.
