Tupungato, Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaLuca Chardonnay perfectly balances Burgundian and California style, grown 1500 metres above sea level. It is nothing like the two. G Lot is a stony Gualtallary wonder with a quiet nose and subtle notes of honey and apples with a mineral underside. The palate is a smooth, creamy affair with pear, honey, and orange, with wafts of caramel, oak, and spice. The fermentation is an 80/20 mix of barrels and stainless steel, aged for one year in French oak. Baked pear and a stony/mineral note create a stylish wine that seems part New and part Old World. If sensitive New World chardonnay is your favourite, you can add Luca G.
