Piedmont, ItalyThere are more refined tannins here than in 2016, but that only means it will go the distance in the bottle. I love the precision of winemaker Matteo Pola’s wines, followed closely by the value they provide. Look for an ethereal nose lined with violets and mineral wet stone that tantalize the palate. In the mouth, a lovely subtle mix of cherries touched with licorice and a tight line of acidity runs through the finish.
