Code Wines Single Clone Syrah Rosé 2022

Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis relatively new Okanagan winery is the vision of Shay and Harlee Code, the farmers and owners of this organic 5-acre Okanagan Falls east bench estate with self-rooted vines. They began planting in 2017 with chardonnay and syrah. Initially, they made their wines at Naramata's Roche Winery but have recently launched their own operation. This single clone (?) syrah comes off their block 3, with destemmed grapes being pressed without any maceration, even then yielding a deep peach hue. This was fermented and aged in stainless. Spiced strawberry, mandarin, and peach yogurt rule the medium, glycerol-lined palate, with a bump of RS to smooth out any edges and light spice to season. One to chill and drink now.Tasted: 12 September 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
