Tantalus Orofino Maenam The Riesling Project 2022

Cawston, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Riesling Project was born from the idea to make a wine that complements Chef Angus An’s Thai food served for years at Maenam Restaurant on West Broadway. The challenge brought together East Kelowna winemaker David Paterson of Tantalus Vineyards, and John Weber of Orofino at Cawston in the Similkameen Valley. Doing what you should do, The Project Riesling was built around the major Thai flavours. In the end, this juicy off dry riesling is full of ripe lemon, pomelo, and red apple, drizzled in honey with a hint of spice. There is a lovely balance and the potential to take on a fair bit of heat from the food. At 12.6 percent, it is very quaffable, and the first bottle will disappear long before any food hits the table if you are not careful. Mosel-like and a winner. Available only at Maenam Restaurant.Tasted: 01 August 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
