Red Rooster Golden Egg 2018

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis blend of grenache, syrah, and mourvèdre at first scent reminds me of the many scorched earth, burnt rubber, old school South Africa labels, although a juicy midpalate helps to ameliorate some of that through the finish. The wine is round, warm, and relatively soft on the palate, with a mix of smoky raspberries flecked with pepper and a slightly acidic finish.
