Fusco Mencia 2021
Ribeira Sacra, Galicia, SpainThis wine had me at mencia, a highly underrated red wine in the New World. The nose is a floral overload before the wild blueberries and black plums kick in, all dusted with a desert brush. The tannins are firm but fine grained and tend to melt in your mouth. Made from old vines grown over granite and schist soils from the Chantada sub-region of Ribeira Sacra in Galicia. Impressive and should improve in the bottle over five to seven years. Lamb, anyone?Tasted: 24 August 2023Tasted by: Prices:BC | $41.99 | 750ml | speculative listing - Grape by Grape |
