Heinrich Blaufränkisch 2018
Burgenland, Weinland Österreich, AustriaWith organic / biodynamic grapes sourced from the east and west side of the Neusiedler See (Lake Neusiedl), this blends grapes growing in the limestone and schist of the Leithaberg (Leitha Mountains), as well as the sandy loams on the Parndorfer Platte (Parndorfer Plain). This was native fermented with two weeks maceration on the skins in wooden vats and steel tank before 39 months aging in wooden vats and in used 500-litre oak barrels. Dusky blackberry, black cherry, crushed violets and broken stones are hugged by grippy / powdery tannins, holding this to a firm finish. Nice purity and freshness in this darker blaufrankisch, primed for grilled fare now.Tasted: 06 July 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:ON | $31.00 | 750ml | consignment |
