Terravista Roussanne Focus Series 2022
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Focus Series is a limited label, and in this case of the roussanne, the fruit comes off celebrated Le Vieux Pin and LaStella winemaker Severine Pinte’s west-facing Oliver home vineyard. I can think of so many grapes we could pull out in favour of this variety, which is simply overdelivering at Terravista. After a gentle whole cluster press, the juice runs into older barrels and puncheons for fermentation and five months of ageing on its lees with regular stirring. This is so delicious. Perfectly ripe with delicate acidity, hints of rosewater, lots of lime and peaches, with just a thread of spice in the finish.
