Tenuta Fanti Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Le Macchiarelle 2013
Montalcino, Siena, Tuscany, ItalyFilippo Fanti planted This Riserva only in the best vintages, from grapes in Vigna Le Macchiarelle’s galestro soils, in 1980. The vineyard is 2.5 hectares, with 35+ year old vines at 250m, facing southward. This ferments for over a month before aging two years in 500L French tonneaux and 30 months in bottle before release. Very well relaxed now at 10 years (they've done the aging for you) this shows dried morello cherry, dried raspberry, tobacco, and supple worn leather, with ample mineral salts lingering long on the finish.
