Valle del Colchagua, Valle del Rapel, Region del Valle Central, ChileThe Alpha Carménèrecomes from several vineyards across the Colchagua Valley and is grown using strict water management developed specifically by Montes for carménère. In 2021 early rains setback some susceptible varieties, but the carménère was unaffected, and it went on to become a wonderful year for this spicy, savoury variety. It aged in 1st, 2nd and 3rd used French oak barrels for about a year yielding a full-bodied red full of cassis and blackberry fruit streaked with its customary green peppercorn balsamic notes.
