What I like best about Jabber is that Kim Crawford’s important work in Chile brings a high level of acknowledgement to Chilean sauvignon blanc. Crawford’s work in the Casablanca Valley shines a long overdue light on this cool climate region ideally suited to sauvignon blanc but virtually ignored by most wine retailers in the Western world. Crawford takes full advantage of the granitic soils, red clays, black chalk, slopes, and three microclimates within Casablanca to craft a deliciously bright, citrus-powered sauvignon with a tight mineral, reductive note. 2022 is slightly riper in style, only adding to its attractiveness and reminding us what the Casablanca Valley can produce.
