Heinrich Chardonnay Leithaberg 2021
AustriaThis organic / biodynamic chardy is taken from east facing limestone and schist slopes of the Leithaberg (Leitha Mountains), with the main portions taken from the Spiegel, Kirchberg and Alter Berg vineyards in Winden, and the Fügler in Jois. Grapes also come from the Edelgraben and Zwergsbreiten sites in Breitenbrunn. After overnight skin contact, the must goes into tank very brown. It was fermented in tank, then into oval casks for 7 months on lees. Stony green apple, sharp lemon streams across the textural palate, driven by tight, buzzy acidity, and finishing with lingering salinity. Much energy here, this rock juice is drinking beauty now, and with time ahead. 9000 bottles.Tasted: 07 July 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:ON | $43.00 | 750ml | consignment |
