Amyndaio, Makedonia, GreeceDomaine Oinea is a remote gem in the small mountainous town of Amyndeon, in Macedonia, protected by a mountain range full of conifers, lime trees and chestnuts. Meaning Bear in Greek, Arkouda comes from Macedonia's limestone soils at 650m. This organic / biodynamically tended blend of 65% xinomavro and 35% limniona was fermented in stainless (xino) and older barrels prior to blending. This lighter red is imbued with scrubby wild herbs, sapid cherry, wild plum, with lofted mountainous acidity, and wrapped with fine, supple tannins to a saline / stony end.
