Champagne Bruno Paillard Dosage Zéro NV

Champagne, FranceDosage Zéro (D:Z) is a blend of 30 vineyards, with chardonnay and pinot noir coming (25% per) off the slopes of Montagne de Reims, and the meunier, the majority grape at 50%, coming out of the Marne. Most of the grapes, base year 2019, were fermented and aged in oak before heading to bottle, along with a healthy amount of perpetual reserve wines (fermented in a mix of stainless and wood before resting in stainless and bottle for up to 10 years). This bottle spent with 36 months on lees sur lattes, until a zéro disgorge in April 2023. An oxidative note clouds this usually shining wine, with baked red apples, pastry, and mealy lees underneath, and a bitter sharp citric finish, stripping the wine of bubbles, length (and pleasure). Unfortunately this is the second bottle of this shipment tasted in Canada, with the same result. Will look for a different disgorge and / or shipment.Tasted: 29 January 2026Tasted by: Prices:
