Friuli-Venezia Giulia, ItalyCastelvecchio is a part of the Karst (Carso) area in the province of Gorizia The dry, rocky soils are layered with red sand, iron, and limestone, and the vineyards are cooled by breezes from the Istrian Peninsula. Native to the area, this organic vitovksa was fermented and rested on lees in concrete. Perfumed lemon, musk melon, rosewater slips along a linear palate, with a very subtle concrete grip.
