Friuli-Venezia Giulia, ItalyCastelvecchio is a part of the Karst (Carso) area in the province of Gorizia The dry, rocky soils are layered with red sand, iron, and limestone, and the vineyards are cooled by breezes from the Istrian Peninsula. Dileo is from the oldest vineyard of the estate, and this organic malvasia was fermented and aged on lees in concrete. Pouring a glowing golden hue, this fuller bodied white is concentrated with honeysuckle, jasmine, perfumed guava, rose petals along a waxen palate, dotted with fragrant spices.
