Mission Hill Reserve Meritage 2021

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe 2021 Reserve Meritage is a mix of merlot, cabernet franc, and cabernet sauvignon, sourced out of Oliver Osoyoos, and is aged 14-16 months in French and American oak. The 2021 is very young and somewhat unknit at this point. The nose mixes dark fruit and blackberry pie crust with lifted notes of blackcurrants and dry, youthful tannins. There is also a spicy undercurrent that runs through a savoury desert scrub finish. It needs two to three years in the bottle or a very hardy menu. Mushrooms, lamb, or aged beef all should work right now.Tasted: 30 June 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
