Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaBright and fresh, Anarchy is a party of ripe limes, tropical fruits, and lemongrass that race around your palate and finish clean with more pink grapefruit and tangerine dusted in desert scrub. The winery suggests food pairings of fresh mussels in coconut lemongrass and white wine sauce, or grilled Halloumi cheese on a crunchy crostini topped with a dash of lemon juice. Where do we sign up? But there is a catch: it is a club member only product. Technically it is year two for this delicious single vineyard barrel fermented sauvignon blanc grown at Hillview Vineyard on the Naramata Bench, picked on October 9. After a long, cool 12-week fermentation, the wine was moved from stainless steel to seasoned barriques and 15% stainless steel barriques.Tasted: 25 July 2023Tasted by: Prices:
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom Naramata's Hillview Vineyard, this was whole bunch pressed and underwent a long cool fermentation starting in stainless, and then heading to a mix of 15% stainless and 85% barriques. The heavyweight bottle and gold foil lettering show intent before the wine gets into the glass. After that, heady passionfruit, guava, lime pith and peel rule the tropical palate, with mouthwatering acidity and ample citrus sherbet to sharpen. This packs a punch, like a ripe Marlborough Sauvy would, and would make a great local substitute for that style.Tasted: 22 June 2023Tasted by: Prices:
