McLaren Vale, South Australia, AustraliaFrom the Wait Vineyard in Blewitt Springs and the Smart Vineyard in Clarendon, this year's OV Grenache is mainly concentrated due to the drought year and poor weather. This was fermented in open fermenters, pressed to a tank for settling, and racked into old oak barrels for aging. Medicinal hewn cherry, raspberry, and red earth rest on a base of worn leather, studded with flake salts and glowing with a gentle humming acidity. Tannins are worn fine and supple, hugging this through a pink peppercorn spiced finish. Lovely concentration and thoughtfulness here.Tasted: 15 June 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
